I’ve been going to the orthodontist once a month for the past two and a half years. Every fourth Friday. On one of my first visits there, I told him my one and only dentist joke. It goes like this. (Brace yourself.)
What is the best time to go to the dentist?
2:30 (tooth hurty)!
He didn’t seem to get it at the time. His English is great, by the way, but sometimes jokes get lost in translation. So, I had to do the one thing I really hate doing, explain a joke. I would much rather be laughing to myself than get that delayed “Oooooooooh! Heh, heh, that’s funny”, whether the person got it or not, thus getting you both off the hook. That was pretty much what happened that day, by the way.
However, my standing appointment these past two and a half years has been, yup, you guessed it, Friday, 2:30. Or could it be, he is laughing at the fact that after my appointment it WILL be tooth hurty. As I left today, he told me good luck with an ever so slight evil laugh.
